Guitar Lesson 4 - Tuning Your Guitar
Before you can actually play it and continue to learn and master guitar,you'll need to tune it properly. Fortunately there are tons of different ways to do this. You can use a piano to tune to,but I do not always recommend this as the piano may be out of tune.
A keyboard will work just as well. Remember that we want to tune our guitar strings to E standard tuning as follows.

One of the best decisions is to use an actually guitar tuner, which will typically have a little indicator of some sort (usually a needle) that will show you when you are too sharp or flat. There are plenty of free on line guitar tuners, but you can pick up one at an instrument dealer or at a store online like ebay or amazon for pretty cheap.
The benefits of getting an actual guitar tuner that isn't just software, is that they usually have a lot more options and features for different types of tunings. This is nice on down the road.
Or if you have a buddy who plays guitar then you can simply tune to their guitar. If you do a simple search in google for "online guitar tuner" there is no doubt that it will turn up plenty of results to get you started, so that uyou may continue on your journey of learning the guitar.
