Learn and master guitar products reviewed
As a long time guitar instructor I know that a lot of people are turning to online guitar instruction every day so that they can learn and master guitar. In fact I get a lot of questions from people who want me to recommend what I think is the best teach yourself guitar course available. So, I decided to test a few out and post what I feel are the pros and cons of each one. Here are the conclusions.
Guitar Super Stars |
Price: 8/10 Depth of Material: 10/10 Ease of Use: 10/10 Contents:10/10 Support:9/10 Guitar Super Stars is a really cool and fun guitar course. What I like about it is the fact that you get several different guitar instructors instead of just one, and that its directed towards beginners, but there is also room to develop. Acoustic, eletric playing, and many different styles of music are covered. Out of all of the courses that I have seen, this one is designed so that you can take your playing as far as you like, as it features lessons on more advanced techniques. The price is more expensive than some of the other courses, but considering that you end up with a lot more course material (updates too), I don't think this should be an issue. So basically, anyone who needs a good starting spot, but wants loads of material to keep them busy for a long time will find this ideal, but even those who have been playing for a little while will enjoy it. Support is very good and personal, so if you need help with anything they are easy to reach. Using this guitar course is very straight forward and easy, meaning that you can get started right away. Guitar Tutor Pro |
Price: 9/10Depth of Material: 8/10 Ease of Use: 10/10 Contents:8/10 Support: 9/10 Guitar Tutor Pro is a nice course in the sense that it has plenty of material for any student. However, I found some of the lessons to not be all that important for a beginner, but otherwise most of the course material I believe would be pretty useful to beginners. I especially liked the focus on rhythm. That's something that gets left out of a lot of guitar courses. It comes with some nice bonuses that make getting started a lot easier, especially the tuner package. The price is pretty cheap, but I wouldn't spend anymore than the asking price considering that its a little lean on some material when you compare it to Guitar Super Stars. Support is nice, and you are guaranteed a 3 month money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied. Over all its not a bad course, and the bonuses are nice, but there is some lesson material that I think should be covered that currently isn't. Check it out |
The Beginner's Guide To Unlocking The Guitar |
Price: 9/10Depth of Material: 6/10 Ease of Use: 10/10 Contents:6/10 Support: 8/10 The Beginner's Guide To Unlocking The Guitar can do what it promises, unlock the guitar in a weekend, but this all depends on the student and how far they want to go. In terms of trying to explain things as simply as possible to beginning guitar players, they do a very good job, but there's not much after that in my opinion. If you want to learn a good deal about guitar, and learn how to play and sing some songs, this is perfect, but if you want to get into even slightlier advanced stuff, this is not the way to go. Its very basic in other words, but can give you a quick start in terms of prep knowledge. The price is pretty cheap, and it seems about right with what you get in the package. I rated the ease of use factor high because its basic and well explained knowledge, but again anything beyond that is just not there and could leave some people feeling frustrated. Support isn't too bad, and in fact all of these courses do pretty well, so the only thing left was to rate based on promptness. If you want some guitar learning info that's explained in a simple fashion, or just want to try guitar playing then I would recommend The Beginner's Guide To Unlocking The Guitar. Check it out |
